Our Sales Policies

Please contact us by phone or email on the pricing and availability of a certain horse.
Prices are subject to change with more training. Your trainer or other experienced
horse person is always welcome to come. But please leave your dog at home.

Please call or e-mail to set up an appointment to view a horse. We have
other obligations and may not be readily available at just any time. If you
asked for an appointment, please be prompt, as I may have rearranged
my schedule to accomodate yours. Your consideration is appreciated.

We get in a variety of horses, so please specify what you are looking for and what level
rider you are so we can make the best match for you. If you feel more comfortable to
bring your own saddle you are welcome to do so. Please also bring a helmet if you
are under 18. All riders are required to sign a release of liability at the farm.

Please do not ask if a horse "never spooks" or is absolutely kid safe. Horses respond to
situations differently. We can tell you if a horse is generally more spooky than others,
but we will not advertise a horse as completely bombproof or kid safe, because they are
unpredictable animals with the "fight or flight" instinct.

We sell our horses as they are advertised. Any health or soundness issues, that we are
aware of, will be brought to attention immediately. You are welcome to, and we strongly
recommend that you, get a pre-purchase exam on the horse that you are interested in,
at your expense. After the horse leaves our farm we can not guarantee soundness or
health issues. It is possible for a horse to get injured in the trailer or pick up a sickness
after it leaves the farm; therefore we DO NOT offer refunds.
We would be more than happy to help you find a new home for your horse for a charge.

We do not like to do trials, but in certain situations we will consider it. IF we do agree to
a trial, we would require you to pay a non-refundable deposit and require you to get
insurance on the horse for the balance of the purchase price during the trial period.

Videos are available on a limited basis and only through the internet. We will provide
basic conformation pictures and trot pictures via e-mail. If you cannot make a decision
off of the pictures we provide, you are more than welcome to make a visit.
Please also understand that we may not always have current pictures because of
inclimate weather.

Terms and Conditions
We are always willing to consider terms for a purchase over $1000. A horse sold on terms
requires a 50% deposit and an insurance policy taken out on the horse for the balance
with Misty Waters as the beneficiary.

**If you must hire a shipper to transport your horse, please keep in mind that Health
Certificates, for shipping out of state, expire 30 days from the date of the examination.
If the horse must remain at Smoke Signals Farm for longer than 14 days from the date of
purchase, board will be charged at the rate of $10 per day until date of pick up. Payment
must be made in full before the horse will be released.**
